Promotion Description

The Sweepstakes begins and ends on the dates listed in the Promotion-Specific Details above (the "Promotion Period"). By participating in the Sweepstakes, each Entrant unconditionally accepts and agrees to comply with and abide by these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor, which shall be final and binding in all respects. Sponsor is responsible for the collection, submission or processing of Entries and the overall administration of the Sweepstakes. Entrants should look solely to the Sponsor with any questions, comments or problems related to the Sweepstakes. Eligibility

The Sweepstakes is open to legal US residents who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Sponsor, and its respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, distributors, retailers, sales representatives, advertising and promotion agencies and each of their respective officers, directors and employees (the "Promotion Entities"), are ineligible to enter the Sweepstakes or win a prize. Household Members and Immediate Family Members of such individuals are also not eligible to enter or win. "Household Members" shall mean those people who share the same residence at least three months a year. "Immediate Family Members" shall mean parents, step-parents, legal guardians, children, step-children, siblings, step-siblings, or spouses. This Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations and is void where prohibited or restricted by law.

Prize

One (1) Grand Prize winner will receive one (1) Amazon Kindle e-reader and a selection of eBooks from participating authors.

The total Approximate Retail Value (ARV) of the Grand Prize will not exceed $500 USD. The specific Kindle model, the number and titles of eBooks, and the exact retail value may vary from promotion to promotion at Sponsor's sole discretion.

No substitution, cash equivalent, or transfer of a prize is permitted except at Sponsor's sole discretion. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize (or portion thereof) with one of equal or greater value if the advertised prize becomes unavailable for any reason. All federal, state, and local taxes on the prize are the sole responsibility of the winner.

How to Enter

Enter the Sweepstakes during the Promotion Period online by visiting the entry form at the URL listed in the Promotion-Specific Details above and submitting a valid email address.

Email confirmation required: After submitting the entry form, Entrant will receive a confirmation email from Sponsor at the email address provided. Entrant must click the confirmation link contained in that email before the end of the Promotion Period in order for the entry to be deemed valid and eligible for the prize drawing. Entries that are not confirmed before the end of the Promotion Period will be disqualified and will not be eligible to win, including any bonus entries associated with that email address. It is the Entrant's sole responsibility to ensure the confirmation email is received and acted upon; Sponsor is not responsible for confirmation emails that are not received, are delayed, are filtered as spam, or are otherwise inaccessible to the Entrant.

Bonus entries: Entrants may earn additional entries by subscribing to the email newsletters of participating authors. For purposes of these Rules, "participating authors" means the authors identified by name on the entry form during the Promotion Period. Each newsletter subscription completed through the entry form during the Promotion Period earns one (1) additional entry, up to the maximum number of bonus entries per Entrant listed in the Promotion-Specific Details above. Subscribing to a newsletter is free; no purchase is required, and unsubscribing after entry will not affect Entrant's eligibility but may not be done before the drawing.

Limit: one (1) base entry per person and per email address, plus any bonus entries earned as described above. Automated or robotic entries submitted by individuals or organizations will be disqualified. Internet entry must be made by the Entrant. Any attempt by Entrant to obtain more entries than permitted by using multiple/different email addresses, identities, registrations, logins, or any other methods, including but not limited to commercial contest/sweepstakes subscription or notification services, will void Entrant's entries and Entrant may be disqualified. Final eligibility for the award of any prize is subject to eligibility verification as set forth below. All entries must be received by the end of the Promotion Period in order to participate. Sponsor's database clock will be the official timekeeper for this Sweepstakes.

Winner Selection

The Winner of the Sweepstakes will be selected in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received throughout the Promotion Period. The random drawing will be conducted within approximately seven (7) days after the end of the Promotion Period by Sponsor or its designated representatives, whose decisions are final. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.

Winner Notification

The Winner will be notified by email at the email address provided in the Entry Information within approximately seven (7) days after the random drawing. The potential Winner must accept the prize by email as directed by Sponsor within seventy-two (72) hours of notification. Sponsor is not responsible for any delay or failure to receive notification for any reason, including inactive email account(s), technical difficulties associated therewith, or Winner's failure to adequately monitor any email account.

Any winner notification not responded to within the seventy-two (72) hour window or returned as undeliverable may result in prize forfeiture, in which case Sponsor may, at its sole discretion, select an alternate winner from the remaining eligible entries. The potential prize winner may be required to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and a release of liability, and a publicity release (collectively, the "Prize Claim Documents") within a timeframe specified by Sponsor. No substitution or transfer of a prize is permitted except by Sponsor.

Privacy

Any personal information supplied by you will be subject to Sponsor's privacy policy, available at the URL listed in the Promotion-Specific Details above. By entering the Sweepstakes, you grant Sponsor permission to share your email address and any other personally identifiable information with participating authors whose newsletters you elected to subscribe to through the entry form, and as otherwise described in Sponsor's privacy policy.

Limitation of Liability

By entering, you agree to release and hold harmless Sponsor and its parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, partners, representatives, agents, successors, assigns, employees, officers, and directors from any liability, illness, injury, death, loss, litigation, claim, or damage that may occur, directly or indirectly, whether caused by negligence or not, from: (i) such Entrant's participation in the Sweepstakes and/or his/her acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any prize or any portion thereof; (ii) technical failures of any kind, including but not limited to the malfunction of any computer, cable, network, hardware, or software, or other mechanical equipment; (iii) the unavailability or inaccessibility of any transmissions, telephone, or Internet service; (iv) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or the Promotion; (v) electronic or human error in the administration of the Promotion or the processing of entries.

Right to Modify or Cancel the Sweepstakes

Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify, suspend, or cancel the Sweepstakes (or any portion thereof) at any time if fraud, technical failures, human error, or any other factor beyond Sponsor's reasonable control impairs the integrity, fairness, or proper operation of the Sweepstakes, as determined by Sponsor. In such event, Sponsor may, in its sole discretion: (i) void any suspect entries; (ii) award the prize from among eligible entries received prior to the action giving rise to the modification, suspension, or cancellation; or (iii) otherwise modify the Sweepstakes in a manner Sponsor deems appropriate. Sponsor's failure to enforce any provision of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that or any other provision.

Force Majeure

Sponsor shall not be liable for any failure to perform its obligations under these Official Rules due to causes beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, war, terrorism, riot, civil unrest, natural disasters, pandemics, government action, labor disputes, or internet or telecommunications outages. If such an event prevents or materially impairs the conduct of the Sweepstakes, Sponsor may modify, suspend, or cancel the Sweepstakes as provided herein.

Severability

If any provision of these Official Rules is held to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be struck and the remaining provisions shall be enforced to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Disputes

This Sweepstakes is governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without respect to conflict of law doctrines. As a condition of participating in this Sweepstakes, participant agrees that any and all disputes that cannot be resolved between the parties, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Sweepstakes, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, exclusively before a state or federal court of competent jurisdiction located in Orange County, North Carolina. Further, in any such dispute, under no circumstances shall participant be permitted to obtain awards for, and hereby waives all rights to, punitive, incidental, or consequential damages, including reasonable attorney's fees. Participant further waives all rights to have damages multiplied or increased.
